You may or may not be around this weekend - so the following is for whenever you can get to it.
Watering: We’ve gotten a bit! But temps will be in the high 80s next week - so keep an eye on the weather. Generally if we get at least 1” a week, you may not need to water. However, in my book, if we go above 85F for more than a few hours a day, I water. Also, most plants will let me know they want water by drooping.
Trimming non flowering hedges - have at it this month only. After Aug 1st, no more trimming. There isn’t enough time for the new growth, prompted by the trimming, to harden off before it gets cold.
Tomatoes - know that above 85F-ish during the day and above 70F at night - flowering shuts down. That could be be the reason why you have nothing right now.
Pinch the flowers off your basil - the flowering will make the basil bitter.
Let your cilantro go to seed - you’ll have coriander. The green coriander seeds go great with blueberries.
Keep checking your garlic - almost time to harvest - you’re looking for at least 5 brown leaves from the base up.
I planted celery instead of parsley…the tag said parsley. Bonus!
